The wet ground on my feet Fresh cut grass clings to my bare toes- Examining the garden
A wide-eyed rabbit Sitting still on the wet grass, Watching danger
A Woodpecker drumming Against a tree, his tapping Echos over sleepy streets.
At the bird feeder, Chickadees, Finches, and Swallows- Inside- watching, sipping coffee.
In bed, soft and warm, Holding you tight. Your breath rises And falls in the dawn light
Feet on the cold floor, Walking softly in the dark While everyone sleeps
Curled up on the couch, We watch a movie together, A quiet dawn, sipping coffee
The full moon hangs over These quiet neighborhood streets A cool night wind whispers
The orange sunrise- A robin sings, breaking the silence As a new day begins.
Hazy orange light Behind the cherry tree blooms sipping warm coffee
